How we authenticate your access
There are no passwords with Clever Logger.
Instead, we get you to authenticate your computer’s or phone’s access to your account by sending an email to the address on your account.
The theory is, if you have access to your email account, you can have access to your Clever Logger account.
What if the email doesn't arrive?
The Clever Logger system sends out literally millions of email every year, and we have a number of processes in place to monitor whether email are being sent successfully. We’re not saying it’s not our fault, just that it’s very unlikely to be our fault.
So where is the email?
Was it blocked by a spam filter?
The most likely explanation is that your email has been blocked by a spam filter.
Blocked by your email software
The first step is to look in your spam/junk folder. If the email from Clever Logger is there, you should be able to move it your Inbox. It is also a good idea to mark the cleverlogger.com domain as a safe sender.

Blocked on the mail server
Before it gets to you, an email must pass through a special computer called a mail server. Mail servers have all sorts of rules about which emails are allowed through, otherwise your inbox would be full of emails from Nigerian princes selling Viagra.
Sometimes, the rules block emails that should get through. If our emails are getting blocked on the server, getting access to them can be more difficult. You will most likely need to contact your IT service provider and ask them to whitelist any emails from cleverlogger.com.
Microsoft Exchange servers can also use a “quarantine” to put aside emails they think are malicious or spam. Ask your IT people how to inspect the mail in the quarantine to see if your Clever Logger is there.
Is it just hard to find?
Sometimes an email is just hard to find.
Search for “Clever Logger”
All email clients have the ability to search for a particular email or sender, so the first step is to search for the words Clever Logger.

You may also want to search for the actual sender’s email – in this case, it will be [email protected].
A note about the Outlook desktop client’s search feature
It sucks.
However, if you open Outlook in a browser, the search generally works a lot better.
Is it in a secondary folder?
Some email clients have a way of sorting emails by their importance or their content. Gmail sorts mail into folders such as Primary, Promotions, Updates, etc. Outlook can sort into Focused and Other.
Your missing email may have been sorted into one of these secondary folders.
