Different Clever Logger models have slightly different ways of starting (and stopping) them.
Which logger do you have?
Second generation loggers
Simpler to start
To start a second generation logger, simply press the Power button once. The logger will immediately start. The In Use light will flash once very briefly every minute to indicate the logger is working.
Stopping the logger
While the logger is linked to a Location, it can’t be turned off. This is by design, so that the logger can’t accidentally be stopped.
But if you unlink the logger (see the logger’s Advanced Settings), it can be turned off by simply pressing the Power button.

First generation temperature loggers
Press and hold to start
To start the logger, press and hold the Power button until the red In Use light comes on – approximately 5 seconds. When you release the button, the light will go out. If you watch closely, the light will flash briefly every 10 seconds to show the logger is recording.
Stopping the logger
These loggers cannot be stopped once started. Pressing the power button will not do anything.

Loggers with probes
Starting the logger
Like the CLT-01, starting the logger requires you to perss and hold the Power button for about 5 seconds until the In Use light comes on. When you release the button, the light will go out but it will flash every 10 seconds to show that the logger is recording.
Stopping the logger
Unlike the CLT-01, these logger can be stopped. If you press and hold the Power button for five seconds, the In Use light will flash five times and the logger will turn off. Be careful not to stop the logger accidentally.

First generation humidity loggers
Starting the logger
Press and hold the Power button for five seconds until you see a green In Use light. Once the logger is started, the light will flash every 10 seconds to show that the logger is recording.
Stopping the logger
This logger can be stopped by pressing and holding the button for five seconds. The In Use light will flash red five times to show it is shutting down.
