Loggers have a raised power button on the front.
To start the logger, press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds until the IN USE light comes on. Release the power button.
The IN USE light will not stay on.
To check that the logger is running, keep watching the IN USE light. It will flash briefly every 10 seconds when the logger is recording. It can be quite hard to see unless you are looking at the logger straight on.
Clever Logger CLT-01 loggers sold after about 2021 cannot be turned off once they are running. This is by design, to avoid the logger accidentally being turned off and not able to record data.
For these loggers, the only way to turn the logger off is to open it and remove the battery. This will cause an offline alarm, so you will want to disable the alarm in the dashboard if you are planning this.
With older loggers, it is possible to turn the logger off by pressing and holding the power button for 5‑6 seconds.
What happens when you press and hold the power button for old the power button for 5‑6 seconds?
If nothing happens, you have a newer logger that can’t be turned off.
If the IN USE light flashes five times, the logger is now turned off. You will need to press and hold the power button again to turn it back on.
