The gateway is basically a mini computer so a restarting it is a good first troubleshooting step if things aren’t going as expected.
That said, you should not need to be constantly manually restarting your gateway. It has features built into it that will automatically restart it if a problem is detected.
If you find that you are needing to frequently restart your gateway then something is obviously wrong, so please contact us.
There are two ways to restart the gateway
The cold boot
If you are near the gateway...
Simply pull the power cable out and put it back in.
The online boot
If you are not near the gateway...
As long as the gateway is still online, you can reboot it remotely through the dashboard.
Open the dashboard and find your gateway
Reboot the gateway
Click on Advanced Settings and then on the Reboot link.
Confirm your action on the next screen (more about this screen below).
The reboot instruction will be sent to the gateway and it should restart within about 10 minutes.
