Bulk Actions

You can now acknowledge and clear all alarms in bulk using the “Acknowledge all” and “Close All” buttons.

As a quick refresher:

When you acknowledge an alarm, you are simply telling Clever Logger that you are aware that there is a problem. For most users this will stop the repeat alarm notification from happening. It does NOT mean that you have fixed the problem, just that you are aware that it is happening.

An active alarm is one that hasn’t been fixed yet. That is,

  • for temperature alarms the location is still too hot or cold, or
  • for the battery alarm, the battery is still low, or
  • for offline alarms, the unit is still offline

Once an alarm has returned to normal (i.e. is fixed) then you can close the alarm. Closing an alarm is telling Clever Logger that you don’t want to be reminded about it anymore.

Bulk acknowledge and bulk close are useful for people who just want to clear the alarms out and don’t want to record any additional information.

Filters

Alarm types

If you only want to see temperature alarms, battery alarms and/or offline alarms, you can restrict the list.

This is intended to show users something like just the temperature alarms for the last six months.

Need action

By default we will only show those alarms that need action (acknowledgement, fixing or closing). You can restrict this further (e.g. to only unacknowledged) or broaden it to show all.

If you want to see historical alarms that have been closed off, you will need to change this option to “resolved”

Date filter

The final new filter is the ability to filter alarms for a specific date range.

This is useful for either looking at a specific problem (e.g. power failure last month), or for looking at all problems over a certain period (e.g. all temperature alarms for the last six months).

Sorting

You can sort the list by date either ascending or descending. This allows you to see either the most recent alarms first, or the oldest alarms first.

You asked, we delivered!

This feature was a result of users asking.

When it comes to using a system, we will do some things a couple of times and then move on. We don’t necessarily have to do it a hundred times.

We then discovered some users were having to acknowledge hundreds of alarms and wanted a quicker way. Our lead developer would work their magic behind the scenes to do it quickly, but we wanted everyone to be able to use the system quickly and easily.

If there is something that you find repetitive or frustrating with Clever Logger, just let us know.

In our next release we have some totally awesome min/max features coming out which were also as a direct result of a user asking. Stay tuned.
